The Kingston-Whig Standard
Throughout the history of the world’s most vital cities, people have made their homes in the same buildings where they and other earned their living. Only in our age of the personal car and the suburbs has home and work become separated and distant. And many city centres have died as a result.
Not so in Kingston. The open house during the weekend of Kincore Holdings Ltd.’s Brock Street Common development showcased how well people can live and work in our downtown. Heritage buildings have been livingly renovated and converted into prestige office and shopping space, as well as into 13 luxury apartments (nine of which are rented).
People making their home downtown keep Kingston’s core economically strong and interesting. It’s a place where people want to be. And everyone in the city benefits from this vitality.
